As they say, Ďan image is worth a thousand wordsí, and nothing could be further from the truth on this leg of the walk. Here is Luckington Church and the beautiful, idyllic stream that meanders away from it. This was deep, glorious English countryside at its best

Looking back at the deserted barns of Littleton Drew, shortly before dipping beneath the incredibly noisy M4. And on the right, the remains of Lugbury Long Barrow, perhaps the most immediately accessible ancient ruin directly on the Macmillan Way.

Did I not say that this was idyllic! Here, fresh bluebells line the track down to Nettleton Mill. On the right, the neo-gothic bridge presents an inaugural teaser to the marvel that has been described as Britainís finest village: Castle Comb. And so to the village itself.
